You may remember this time last year, when our beekeeping children did their BBKA Junior Certificate exam... with all 10 children passing with flying colours!
Well it is another year and another group of super beekeepers, all ready to show the examiner in the coming week what super beekeepers they are! Each child has kept a detailed beekeeping diary and produced a bee themed project.
Tuesday is 'exam' day, when Mrs Viki Cuthbertson, a Master Beekeeper (Bee God!) from the BBKA, will travel up to school to watch the children examine a colony and answer questions about how they manage the bees over a year. She will check their knowledge of everything, from swarming, healthy brood, to the dreaded Varroa mite!
I have no doubt they will add to the growing number of qualified beekeepers we have in school, we are so proud of their commitment and hard work. Good Lucky everyone!! We will keep you posted on the days events!
