Applying for a Reception Place at ​Heron Hill Primary School 

How to make an application for your child to start at our school in September 2026.

• Read Westmorland & Furness Council's booklet ‘Starting School in Cumbria – September 2026’, available on the council’s website at www.westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk.  Alternatively, a copy is available to view at the school. 
• You may apply either by completing the on-line application form on the council’s website or you can download an application form (SA1) from the county council’s website, ask your preferred school for a form or contact the School Admissions and Appeals Team school.admissions@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk - and they will send a form to you. 
• Return your completed form to your preferred school by the closing date of 15th January 2026; it is vital to get your application in on time as there is less chance of getting a place at your preferred school if your application is late.​
